PRODUCTION OF BOX-FORM RESIN MOLDED ITEM

PURPOSE:To eliminate poor adhesion of a coating layer to a resin molded body caused by in adequate compression in the production of a box-form resin molded item to improve the surface quality of the box-form resin molded item. CONSTITUTION:A space 3 is formed between a first mold 1 and a second mold 2 which can move to/from the first mold 1. A molding resin 4a is compression molded into a resin molded body 4 in this space 3. After that, a coating material 5a is injected onto the surface of the resin molded body 4. A coating layer 5 is provided by again conducting compression molding. In this molding method, a side core 6 is provided on the mold correspondingly to the outer peripheral wall of a box-form resin molded item to compress the outer peripheral wall. Therefore, the outer peripheral wall of the box-form resin molded item is also uniformly compressed.
