PURPOSE:To simply monitor the propriety of charging ink particles in an ink jet recorder by providing a charging detecting electrode for detecting the passage of charged ink particles and a circuit for detecting the propriety of the charging of the ink particles to automatically inform the occurrence of abnormal charging during recording operation. CONSTITUTION:A charging detecting electrode 8, an electric circuit 23 and a notification energizing circuit 24 are provided in an ink jet recorder which has an ink tank 1, a nozzle 5, a charging electrodes 7, and a deflecting electrode 9, etc. The electrode 8 detects the passage of the charged ink particles. The electric circuit 23 monitors the charging detection signal to automatically detect the propriety of the charging operation during the recording operation. When abnormal charging occurs, the circuit 24 operates to respond to the output signal from the circuit 23 to automatically notify the abnormal charging and to stop the recording operation. |
