PURPOSE:To automatically print an image on that page even when a band bit map error generates by a method wherein image data for one page is bit- map-expanded on a bit map memory, and printing is performed base on it. CONSTITUTION:An external RAM 31 is used as a bit map memory when an image expansion is performed by a full bit map method. A DMA control circuit 16 transfers bit map data which is expanded on first and second band bit map expansion areas E3 and E4 of an internal RAM 12 or on the eternal RAM 31, to a printer engine interface 15. For this printer, when an extension board 30 is not connected, an image expansion is performed by a band bit map method only. when the extension board 30 is not connected, an image expansion is normally performed by a band bit map method, and when a band map error generates, an image expansion and printing process for that page are performed by a full bit map method. |
