<p>PURPOSE: To continuously monitor blood pressure without discomfort, by measuring pulse wave amplitudes after measurement of pulse wave velocity in artery, measuring changes in blood stream in tissue part injected from the artery, all the measurements being carried out noninvasive and non-reactive, and processing these measurements. CONSTITUTION: Adequate positions 1, 2 are illuminated by LED 3, 4, and detectors 5, 6 convert the data into electric signals, which are sent to a transconductance amplifier 7, 8, and applied to adders 9, 10 together with output voltage of D/A converters 13, 14. A microprocessors 15 has the processed signals from an A/D converter 16. A multiplexer 17 receives the output voltage of amplifiers 11, 12, and sends it to an A/D converter 16. A cuff-based pressure monitor 18 provides digital voltage representing the blood pressure measured at the positions 1, 2. The voltage is sent to the A/D converter 16. The positions 1, 2 give information on blood stream and pulse wave velocity.</p> |
