<p>PURPOSE:To certainly protect stored data against external force by forming a recessed part for the insertion of an IC module to a main body and coating at least the inner surface and periphery of the recessed part with a ceramic layer and inserting the IC module in the recessed part so as to expose the connection terminal thereof. CONSTITUTION:A data holding medium consists of a main body 2 and an IC module 3 having a semiconductor integrated circuit having at least a microprocessor or a memory built therein and a connection terminal 9 for electrically connecting the module to the outside. A recessed part 4 for the insertion of the IC module 3 is formed to the main body 2 and at least the inner surface and periphery of the recessed part 4 are coated with a ceramic layer 20 and the IC module 3 is inserted in the recessed part 4 so as to expose the connection terminal. As a result, the data holding medium large in memory data capacity, capable of certainly protecting stored data against external force, high in the security of stored data, excellent in impact resistance and portability and easy to produce is obtained.</p> |
