PRODUCTION OF BIODEGRADABLE RESIN FOAM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a biodegradable closed-cell foam which has excellent water resistance and strengths in spite of its high expansion ratio by melting and expanding a composition comprising a starch polymer of a specified water content, an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer saponificate of a specified water content and a nonionic surfactant and having a specified overall water content. CONSTITUTION:The foam is prepared by melting and expanding a composition comprising a starch polymer of a water content of 5-30wt.% (e.g. corn grits), an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer saponificate of a water content of 5-30wt.% and a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether) and having an overall water content of 10-40wt.%.
