PURPOSE:To amend a surplus soil having a high water content and thus enable the reuse of the soil for back filling, etc., by mixing the soil with a water-sol. carboxylated polymer powder and then with lime and curing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A water-contg. soil is amended by mixing it with a water-sol. carboxylated polymer powder having a mean particle size of 0.05-0.4mm and then with lime and curing the resulting mixture. The soil thus amended is usually a low-flowability one having a slump value of 4cm or lower, esp. 2cm or lower, and can be conveyed on a dump car. The amendment is most expected when the soil has a water content of 40-200%, esp. 60-150%, i.e., when it is a surplus soil produced in general civil engineering and building constructions such as the construction of water supply and sewage facility, road work, and preparation of housing site. |
