PURPOSE:To detect an error generated from 'constraint of number' which occurs between 'modifier' and 'noun' being in a modifying relation, and to correctly correct it. CONSTITUTION:In a step 101, a text is read in, and in a step 102, a sentence pattern of the text is analyzed. In a step 103, whether there is a noun phrase or not is decided, and if there is the noun phrase, in a step 104, whether the noun is 'original form' or 'plural form' is decided. In the case of the original form, in a step 106, an error in the original form noun phrase is retrieved. In the case of the plural form, in a step 107, an error in plural noun phrases is retrieved. In the step 107, a result of elaboration is outputted. Accordingly, by utilizing this system, an error related to the number of modifiers and nouns can be corrected, in a natural language processing system such as an elaborating system, etc., of an English sentence. Also, by applying this system to a CAI (educational support by a computer) system, etc., it can be expected as an effective language learning support tool. |
