PURPOSE:To decrease the amount of transferred data and shorten the transfer time by finding and transferring the format of a table by a computer system which has a data base together with a retrieval result, and finding ruled-line information by a computer system which has an output device. CONSTITUTION:The large-sized computer 10 finds the retrieval result from a data base storage part 11 by using a data base retrieval part 12. The retrieval result consists of a label row containing item names as a 1st record and retrieval results as 2nd and succeeding records. The table format transferred from the large-sized computer 101 to a work station 102 contains only the size and format of the table. A table format generation part 14 generates, for example, a longitudinally 3 X laterally 4 size as the size of the table in the table format. The large-sized computer 101 transfers the table format and retrieval result to the work station 102. The work station 102 generates the ruled-line information by a ruled-line generation part 16 from the transferred table format. Then the table is displayed on a display 103. |
