PURPOSE:To provide the data type converter capable of converting floating point type numerical data to integer type numerical data with high conversion accuracy. CONSTITUTION:By using a floating point subtracter 9, the decimal part of the floating point type numerical data to be cut off in the case of conversion to the integer type numerical data is calculated, and this decimal part is compared with a fixed value '0.5' by a comparator 11. When the decimal part is larger than '0.5', '1' is supplied to an integer adder 12 and when it is less than '0.5', '0' is supplied. Then, it is added to the integer type numerical data shifted by a prescribed bits by means of a shifter 5 and added codes. Thus, the first-order decimal place of the floating point type numerical data is rounded off, and conversion accuracy is improved in the case of conversion from the floating point type numerical data to the integer type numerical data. |
