Removal system for silo stored bulk material - uses transfer screw mounted on trolley which moves along railway to access whole area of silo floor

The system is used with an endless spiral transfer screw (16). This directs material to an outlet chute (3) where it is transported by a conveyor. The transfer screw is mounted on a trolley which can move along a railway. The railway uses at least one rail and is orientated parallel to the conveyor. Discharge of the material towards the chute and conveyor can be achieved at all points along the length of the assembly. The trolley carries a primary motor and gearbox to drive the transfer screw through a bevel gear. The trolley also carries the drive mechanism to move it along the railway. ADVANTAGE - System is positioned for easy maintenance. Permits several different areas in a silo to be served by a single removal system.
