<p>PURPOSE: To provide the jitter detection circuit that detects jitter with excellent tracking performance with respect to the jitter detection circuit that detects jitter in a video signal reproduced from a recording medium. CONSTITUTION: A sample-and-hold means 15 uses a sample pulse of about horizontal scanning period generated based on a horizontal synchronizing signal outputted from a horizontal synchronizing signal separator circuit 11 to sample and hold a tilt part of an output tilt wave from a variable ramp generating circuit 14 and gives a sampling and holding voltage to a voltage controlled oscillator 12 as a control voltage and gives it to the variable ramp generating circuit 14 as a control signal. The variable ramp generating circuit 14 generates a ramp wave in a timing in response to a phase of an output pulse of a frequency divider circuit 13 and the slope of the ramp wave is varied with an output control signal of the sample-and-hold means 15.</p> |
