PURPOSE:To exactly allow a focus lens to follow-up, and to realize a zoom operation without any focus blur by storing the driving information of a variable power lens in a memory at each position of the variable power lens and the focus lens, and driving the focus lens so that the position information of both lenses can be fulfilled. CONSTITUTION:When the power source of a camera is supplied, an MPU 18 starts a control, drives the protruding portions 6b and 7b of a variable power lens 3 and a focus lens 5 are driven to initial positions, and resets counters 21 and 22. After the initialization is ended, the MPU 18 decides that a zoom switch is turned on, and reads the positions VC and FC of the lenses 3 and 5 from the positions of the counters 21 and 22. Then, the MPU 18 reads variable power lens driving speed information VS corresponding to the VC and FC from a table in a memory 28 based on the position information. The MPU 18 reads the positions of the lenses 3 and 5 from a memory 27, and a relation that VC-FC=VR, and drives the lens 3 at a speed based on the information VS. Then, the MPU 18 drives the lens 5 in a direction in which the relation that VC-FC=VR can be fulfilled. |
