PURPOSE:To smoothly perform shift-up speed change and shift-down speed change without a delay by controlling engaging force of a front stage engaging element and a next stage engaging element. CONSTITUTION:In shift-up speed change, an engaging controller controls a front stage engaging element upon receipt of a speed changing command in such a manner that a rotation speed Ni of a speed change gear input shaft accords with a first shift-up target speed Nu1 higher than an input shaft rotation speed (shift-up reference rotation speed Nu0) corresponding to a vehicle speed in the case of engagement of the front stage engaging element, and controls to gently increase engaging force of a next stage engaging element. Thereafter, the engaging controller decreases the engaging force of the front stage engaging element and controls the engaging force for engaging the next stage engaging element when the input shaft rotation speed becomes lower than a second shift-up target rotation speed Nu2, which is higher than the shift-up reference rotation speed Nu0 and lower than the first shift-up target rotation speed Nu1 (Nu0<Nu2<Nu1). |
