PURPOSE:To permit a user to predict the arrival time at the destination by detecting the degree of traffic congestion in main points at all times, periodically transmitting it to a host computer, and detecting the state of a road in real time. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of a host computer 1, terminal equipment 2, and plural devices 3 for detecting the degree of traffic congestion provided on the main points on the surface of a road. The device 3 detects the degree of traffic congestion of each installed point and transmits the detection result periodically to the host computer 1. The host computer 1 is provided with a database 4 for the degree of traffic congestion, where the data transmitted from the device 3 are stored. In this case, the host computer 1 and the terminal equipment 2 are constituted to enable communication by radio. When destination setting data are sent from the terminal equipment 2, the host computer 1 predicts the arrival time at the destination and returns it to the terminal equipment 2. |
