PURPOSE: To manufacture a ceramic oxide superconducting compound with a high core density and without pores by accommodating a ceramic oxide superconducting substance in a sleeve and reducing a cross-sectional area by thermally transforming it in a melted or partially melted state. CONSTITUTION: In the method of manufacturing a superconducting compound 1 having a core 2 which consists of a ceramic oxide superconducting substances such as BiSrCaCuO or BiPbSrCaCuO in sleeve 3 such as silver or silver alloy, a ceramic oxide superconducting substance is accommodated in the sleeve 3, a cross-sectional area is reduced, and the density of oxygen is recovered and adjusted by the heat-treatment. The reduction transformation of the cross-sectional area contains at least one heat transformation process that the superconducting substance is in a melting or partially melting state. As for this heat transformation process, a pulling out or rolling process are adequate and it is desirable that both are done by preheating a dice or a rolling roller up to 400-700 deg.C. As a result, the density of the core 2 can be 80% or more of the theoretical density. |
