PURPOSE: To prevent damage to each of the projecting parts of an electric connector component during a soldering operation or reel winding. CONSTITUTION: A carrier web 80 of a metallic thin plate to which the die-forged component 24 of an electric connector is coupled is disclosed. The component is fed into a die forging process by the carrier web of the metallic thin plate. The component is die-forged from the thin plate in such a way that at least one part 48, 50, 58, 60 projects from one side of the original plane of the metallic thin plate. The carrier web is formed into three-dimensional structures 90, 102 in order to contract the interval between adjacent components. A part of the web can be projected by a sufficient distance from one side of the original plane of the metallic thin plate to protect the projecting parts of the components during subsequent manufacturing operations on the components. In order to maintain a predetermined interval of the components in the carrier web, other structures 120, 122, 124 can also be provided. A method for manufacturing the carrier web is also disclosed.
|
