A slider device for a carriage (10) with shoes (2,3) of a non-flowing core (2), pref. of silicon, with a known flexibility and hardness less than 100, pref. 70-90, Shore. surrounded outside by a skirt (3) of thermoplastic of lower flexibility able to slide with low friction within a 'U' section channel (5). The geometry of the skirt allows it to follow any core deformations. The shoes (2, 3) have four separate outer protuberances so that only two points of contact exist on the lower point (7) of the channel (5). Pref., the skirt thermoplastic e.g. polyacetal has a hardness of approximately 120N/mm2 and a thickness of 0.3-1 mm. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used partic. for opening roofs used with aluminium or steel slider channels. Reduces operation noise and slider wear.
