摘要 The propulsion system is designed to project an object at a high speed in a variable direction. It works on the principle of converting the energy of a liquid, falling from a great height, into projecting the object in the desired direction, which may be upto 180 degrees from the direction of the falling liquid. The unit takes the form of a tube, bent in the form of a U-shape, and sufficiently strong to carry a vacuum. The tube is fitted with valves and gates to allow the vacuum to be created in the desired parts and to allow the liquid to be stored up in the high part of the tube, from where it may be launched by the sudden opening of the gates. USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides a very economic way of projecting objects at high speed. It is suggested that it might be used to project radio active waste into space.
