<p>A bed comprises an extendable mattress and a base incorporating a backrest portion (3) which can move about a hinge line (7). As the backrest pivots about this line (7), the latter moves vertically in such a way that the movement of the backrest corresponds to that of the back of the user lying on the mattress. This specific movement is achieved by means of links (8) and a scissor arrangement (11) connecting the backrest (3) to the frame (1). The links are moved by means of levers (21) mounted on driven arms (12) which serve to raise the backrest (3).</p> |
