The pneumatically driven fuel pump is for the engine of a hand-held chain saw. It has a pump chamber (38) defined by a pump membrane (37) driven by a fluctuating pressure derived from the crank housing. The suction valve (40) is a partially circular valve forming a section of the pump chamber. The pressure valve (41) lies in the centre of the suction valve and delimits the pump chamber in the stroke direction of the membrane.
