The cross connector has a cross strip (1) with comb-tooth like flat connectors (2), that are inserted in a sprung contact zone (3) of a current rail opening. The flat connectors are formed as metal pressings and have pairs of contact fingers that receive formed sprung sections (3a, 3b). The contact fingers are formed in parallel and project from a main section. The main section is moulded into a body of insulating material (4) for handling purposes. Each projecting contact finger pair is formed with weakened sections such that it can be readily removed. ADVANTAGE - Esp. compact with high contact force.
