The connection (15) from the master cylinder (1) to the brake cylinders (4,5) of the driven wheels is taken through a constriction (16) and respective magnetic inlet valves (11,13). Antilock and antislip modes are established by electronic control (19) of the inlet and outlet valves which extends also to the return pump (14). The constriction has a dia. of 0.3 to 0.4 mm allowing oil to escape in antislip mode when pressure in the reservoir (30) is released by a non-return valve (27), but also enabling pressure to be built-up in the brake cylinders. ADVANTAGE - Combination of valves for isolating master cylinder in antislip mode is mfd. at more favourable cost.
