<p>PURPOSE:To prevent exhaust from flowing into operating cylinders and improve stability of partial cylinder running, by forming a sealing space through introduction of air downstream of a shut-off valve. CONSTITUTION:The second shut-off valve 10 is set downstream of the first shut-off valve 3 in a passage 1b to form a sealing space 12 in part of a suction passage between both valves 3, 10. A bypass passage 14, communicated with downstream of an air flow meter 13 at upstream of a suction throttle valve 2, is connected with the sealing space 12 to introduce air between both shut-off valves 3, 10 when cylinders are in partial operation. This construction prevents exhaust downstream of the second shut-off valve 10 from leaking out from the sealing space 12 through the first shut-off valve 3 to the operating cylinders, even through air in the sealing space 12 flows in operating cylinders #1-#3 through the shut-off valve 3 at the time of partial operation.</p> |
