Quick acting clamping nut for securing grinding wheels etc. - has wheel forced against spindle flange by spring loaded disk which holds wheel away from nut face after nut is loosened by spindle braking
摘要
The grinding wheel (8) is clamped between the faces (6, 7) of a spindle flange (4) and a nut (5) screwing onto the threaded end section of the spindle (2). To prevent complete unscrewing and release of the clamping nut when the spindle brake is applied the grinding wheel is forced against the flange by an additional pressure surface (18) of a spring-loaded disk (16). The disk (16) is axially slidable on the spindle but keyed to rotate with it. A cup spring (17) provides the spring force holding the grinding wheel away from the nut and against the flange (4) after the initial loosening of the nut by wheel inertial over-run during braking. The nut is easily unscrewed by hand to allow changing of the wheel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Damage due to grinding wheel dropping off is prevented. Quick clamping nut is of simple, compact and easily producible design.
