The appts. for an openable connection between the gripper rail components (1) and (2), which are provided respectively with mating end pieces (5) and (4), in a transfer press has (a) axially displaceable clamping claws (8) that are housed in a central bore (6) in the end piece (4) of the component (2); and (b) the end piece (5) of the component (1) provided with a clamping pin (9) with an annular groove (10) which (in the coupled state of the gripper rail components) engages with the clamping claws (8). The clamping claws (8) are made as sleeve segments provided with inner (11) and outer (13) shoulders at the ends facing the clamping unit (3). These shoulds engage respectively with an annular groove (12) in the clamping spindle (7) and (in the open position) with an annular protrusion (14) of the bore (6). The other ends of the clamping claws are provided with inner (16) and outer (15) locking shoulders. USE/ADVANTAGE - In transfer presses. It does not require additional space in the tool zone. The functional parts of the appts. are effectively protected against damage and dirt.
