Drainage water removal system for dump - has tunnel and access shaft allowing access, control and repair

In a system for transporting drainage water from a dump which is sealed at the bottom by a liq.-impermeable sealing basin (3), the novelty is that (i) a drainage water collector (10) is located at the lowest point (7) of the sealing basin (3); (ii) a double-walled piercing tube (11) penetrates the sealing basin (3) near its lowest point (7) and is connected to the collector (10); (iii) a liq.-tight tunnel (12) extends from the external location of piercing tube penetration and is connected liq.-tightly to the outer tube of the piercing tube (11); (iv) a vertical shaft (14, 15), located outside the sealing basin (3), is connected at its bottom to the tunnel (12) and serves for raising the drainage water; and (v) a pipe (13a, b), extending along the tunnel (12), is flush connected at one end to the inner tube of the piercing tube (11) and is connected at the other end to the shaft (14, 15). Pref. the piercing tube (11), the shaft (14, 15) and/or the tunnel (12) are constructed of high density polyethylene and/or a combination of polyethylene and steel-reinforced concrete. ADVANTAGE - The design provides accessibility, controllability and repairability of the entire water removal system as well as the penetrated point of the sealing basin.
