<p>An adjustable spanner comprises the spanner body (1) made of a head (5) and a handle (6), a movable jaw (2), a worm (3) with a driven conical gear, a cover with a lead screw (4), with a driving conical gear (26) and with a trigger (38) for adjusting the spanner mouth opening, and a screw (29) for fastening the cover. The head is provided with an opening (11) coaxial with the cavity for the worm, in which is mounted one of the supports of the worm, and between that opening and a channel for the barrel of the movable jaw is provided a partition (17). The other support of the worm is located in a bushing (13) mounted at the inlet to the channel for the worm and is secured against turning by a protrusion (16) on the bushing, which enters into a slot on the head. On the lead screw is mounted a spring providing for permanent contact between the driving (25) and driven (26) gears.</p> |
