BED WITH A LYING SURFACE FORMED BY SLAT-LIKE ELEMENTS AND A TUBULAR BODY FOR SUPPORTING THE SLAT-LIKE ELEMENTS

Known beds with a slat grating have the disadvantage of being bulky, difficult to assemble and to disassemble and of requiring considerable storage space. A thick mattress is needed to ensure a sufficient comfort. A new bed should be universally usable, offer a high comfort, require little space during storage and transport and be quick to assemble and to disassemble. For that purpose, longitudinal bodies constituted of tubular bodies made of a flexible but non-elastic material closed all around support slat-like elements transversely secured thereon. The tubular bodies can be inflated and deflated by means of inflating and deflating valves. This bed offers a high comfort. The slat-like elements closely fit the contour of the body of the lying person. This bed can be selectively rolled or folded up for storage and transport purposes, thus taking a reduced space. The longitudinal bodies and the slat-like elements have only a reduced weight. The bed may thus be carried by a single person. It can be quickly used for whatever purpose, for example as a hospital bed, a sleeping bed or a stretcher for rescue or transport operations. It can be set up on any type of supporting surface.
