The invention concerns a modular-design adapter intended to be fixed to a multi-hole machine-tool workpiece table. The clamping elements which hold the workpiece are not mounted on the table itself but on a plate (4) forming part of the adapter. By virtue of the fastenable transverse and longitudinal displacement elements (2, 3) of the adapter, the invention makes it possible to fix the clamping element in any desired position, irrespective of the positions of the holes in the workpiece table. The workpiece can thus be held in place by the optimum force. In addition, the workpiece can always be clamped in place in such a way that none of the surfaces to be machined are masked by the clamping elements. |
