In-situ process to adjust pH value of soil - by injection of carbon di:oxide through vertical borehole and horizontal drain holes

In a process to clean soil in-situ by changing the pH value, the novelty is that a gas is introduced into the soil under pressure and then reacts with the soil moisture H+ and OH- ions. The condition of the gas is adjusted with respect to pressure, temp and concn. to meet the local conditions. The gas used is compressed CO2 from a natural or industrial source, introduced either continuously, in pulses, intermittently. The gas is introduced into the ground through a vertical borehole and horizontal drainage holes. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process adjusts the pH value of soil. The soil does not have to be removed from the ground for treatment.
