The universal road/rail travel system is for a cable drum trailer. It can travel on roads and railway lines of different gauges. The road/rail trailer incorporates a basic axle construction (2) on which can be mounted various intermediate spacing flanges (1) which enable the flanged railway wheels to fit onto different rail track widths. The basic axle is capable of being raised and lowered according to the mode of travel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Adjustable axle and wheel system enables a trailer originally designed for road transport to be used on rails.
