The dowel has an anchor bolt (1) with a cylindrical shaft having a radial extension (2) in the direction of insertion into the workpiece. The shaft has a location member (4) for carrying the load, and the bolt has a sleeve (5) with an ID matching the OD of the shaft (3). The sleeve has several expanding elements (7) held onto the sleeve and therefore the dowel via fixtures (10). Dowels with deformation regions and curved fixtures have neutral fibres (12) in the bending cross-section of the fixture, which run effectively through the bending point (13) of the expanding elements.
