The bicycle (3) is pivotable into and out of an opening in a rigid front plate (1). The pivoting element (4) turns about a bearing (5) at the foot of the opening about 50 cm above the ground. The forward end of the pivoting element engages a fixing device (14) on the frame above the front fork. A handle (7) enables the rear end (8) to be lowered to the ground for extn. of the machine released, e.g. by a coded card reader or coin-slot appts. USE/ADVANTAGE - For inner-city environmentally-friendly bicycle load system, giving secure storage in enclosures which cannot become filled with rubbish and allowing withdrawable without excessive effort even by children and elderly borrowers.
