The dynamic air pressure cuff is conical, or with a partly circular blank. It has a pneumatically filled section, and an empty cuff section. The cuff is typically more than 10 cm. wide. The tissue under the air filled section is pressurised, while the tensile stress on the tissue under the empty section effect the tissue compression. The cuff is made of flexible material, e.g. a rubber hose. Two such strips are welded or adhered to the circular arch to form a filling chamber with a valve. USE/ADVANTAGE - For extremity surgery, with facility for arterial occlusion with as low pressure as possible.
