The bedding material, made from a base of chipped straw or wood chips, has biological components designed to transform and stabilise organic matter from animal waste. Rapidly-fermenting sugar such as molasses is added to the basic material in a proportion varying between 0.5 and 10 percent by weight, and preferably between 1 and 7 percent. The bedding material also incorporates urea, added in a proportion of 0.1-3 percent of the basic material by weight, as well as amino acid compounds at a rate of between 0.05 and 0.2 percent by weight. |
