The bar comprises a cylindrical body (12) with flattened ends (14), and has at least one aperture (16) in the form of a lengthwise slot in its underside. This covers a portion of the bar of reduced radial dimensions, especially to allow any accumulating rainwater to drain out of the bar. The bar can be of circular or C-shaped cross-section, with the slot(s) (16) extending along its whole length. In a variant of the design the bar can be made rectangular in section, with or without rounded edges, and it can be made from folded metal strip. |
