Ovulation-inhibiting preparation for hormonal contraception

Ovulation-inhibiting agent for hormonal contraception, with two hormone components which are packed spatially separate in a package unit, are intended for sequential oral administration and each of which consists of a number of hormone daily units which are accommodated in the package unit spatially separate and removable one at a time, where a first of the hormone components contains as hormonal agent essentially exclusively an oestrogen preparation which interferes with follicle ripening, whereas the second hormone component contains a combination of an oestrogen preparation and of a gestagen preparation in a dose at least sufficient to inhibit ovulation, characterised in that the total number of hormone daily units equals the total number of days of the required cycle; in that the first hormone component comprises 5 to 14 and the second hormone component comprises 23 to 14 daily units; and in that the number of daily units of the first hormone component is less than the number of daily units of the second hormone component.
