PURPOSE:To obtain the title image receiving sheet free from the problem of counter printing inferiority and blacking and excellent in printing quality by constituting an ink receiving layer so that org. pigment is contained in all of pigments in a specific ratio or more and a binder is based on a water-soluble high-molecular resin. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording has an ink receiving layer receiving ink melted under heating from a thermal transfer ink sheet having a hot-melt ink layer. In this case, pigments are added to the ink receiving layer so that org. pigment is contained in all of pigments in an amount of 10wt.% or more and the binder of the ink receiving layer is based on a water-soluble high-molecular resin. At least one of a urea resin and a styrene resin is added to the org. pigment and the oil absorbancy of the org. pigment is set to 85ml/100g or more. As the water-soluble high- molecular resin, at least one or more kind of a resin selected from hydroxyethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, casein, PVA and silanol group modified PVA is added. |
