PURPOSE:To provide an agricultural and horticultural germicide containing 2-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-isopropyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-1-cyclo pentanol in combination with a phthalide and exhibiting a remarkable synergistic effect. CONSTITUTION:This agricultural and horticultural germicide contains 2-(4- chlorobenzyl)-5-isopropyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1ylmethyl)-1-cyclopentanol of formula I in combination with phthalide of formula II, i.e., 4,5,6,7-tetrachlorophthalide as the active components. The mixing ratio of the compound of formula I and the phthalide of formula II is preferably within a ratio of (1:0.5) to (1:5) on weight base. By using the mixture of two compounds, a more excellent effect in comparison with the case of separate use is observed by a synergistic effect. Thereby, this germicide can be used not only for a preventive treatment against rice blast but for a treatment after occurrence of rice blast for exhibiting a stable controlling effect. |
