PURPOSE: To make it possible for an apparatus for assisting a human waking up and down stairs to be used movably and to avoid a high cost, by providing a track along stairs, a motor means which drives a supporting assembly along the stairs, and an attaching means which attaches and detaches selectively and freely the motor means at the one side of both the track and the supporting assembly. CONSTITUTION: A track assembly 10 along the stairs and a portable motor- driven handgrip 12 which is freely attachable and detachable to/from the track assembly 10 are provided. The handgrip assembly 12 contains a handgrip 44 and a handgrip support 46 having a roller 48, and the roller 48 engages to a V-shaped channel of a track 14 in a supporting and fitting state. The handgrip support 46 further contains a bi-directional electric motor, and power is supplied from a battery supported by a housing. When attaching the handgrip assembly 12 and the track assembly 10 to the V-shaped channel and supporting and lining up these are carried out, the handgrip assembly 12 is pushed slightly along the track assembly 10 to line up and attach automatically a driving sprocket to the dented edge part of a roller chain. |
