PURPOSE: To transmit compressed gases generated by a gas generator, without deflection loss in a drive unit in a restrainer for automobiles. CONSTITUTION: A connecting passage comprising a deflection is formed between an outlet 24 of a gas generator 22 and a space 26 beneath a piston 16 of a piston/cylinder drive free from discontinuities at which reflections of a pressure wave could occur. The connecting passage consists of two straight passage portions 30, 32 extending inclined to the axis of the gas generator 22 and a curved portion which connects the portions and which is formed by a concave recess 34 in the bottom of a bore 20 into which the gas generator 22 is inserted. |
