PURPOSE:To improve the quality of the lap welding of plated sheets by controlling and oscillating the peak power of the pulse pattern and the pulse width in two steps. CONSTITUTION:Two rectangular waves are generated in the pulse pattern to be oscillated by a pulse laser beam oscillator. The relation between the peak power value of the rectangular wave of the first step: P1 (Kw) and its pulse width: t1 (msec) and the peak power value of the rectangular wave of the second step: P2(Kw) and its pulse width: t2(msec) is obtained. 0<t1/(t1+t2)<1, P1/P2>1, t1/(t1+t2)<=0.6*(P1/P2)-0.2. By converting such pulse irradiation pattern into the specified two-stepped rectrangular wave, the plated metal vapor can be efficiently removed from the weld bead, and the weld bead where defective welds are very few, the appearance of the weld is excellent, and the weld strength is large. And the optical system is less damaged, reducing the loads in maintenance. |
