Liposomal transfection of nucleic acids into animal cells

A reagent for transfecting a nucleic acid into an animal cell containing a neutral phospholipid such as dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine, a cationic lipid such as stearylamine or dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide, a tertiary carbyl amine, or a benzethonium salt such as methylbenzethonium chloride. A method for using this reagent in the transfection process is also described.
