PURPOSE:To restrain the generation of plasma flames and to prevent the oxidation of the molten periphery by ejecting argon gas to the vicinity of a part irradiated with laser beam and helium gas to its periphery. CONSTITUTION:Argon gas is introduced into a 1st nozzle 17 and elected to the part 16 irradiated with laser beam 14 at a comparatively high speed. At the same time, helium gas is introduced into a 2nd nozzle 18 and ejected at a comparably low speed so that the part 16 irradiated with laser beam 14 is enclosed. The argon gas ejected to the irradiated part 16 generates plasma flames having a size suitable for weld and helium gas prevents the molten metal and the welded bead 19 from being oxidized at a part 16 to be irradiated. Though members 13a, 13b to be welded are of high laser beam reflecting material(Al, Cu, etc.), they can be welded easily. |
