PURPOSE:To provide a blood constituent separating membrane excellent in the wettability of blood and causing no increase of quinine when blood is treated by forming the blood constituent separating membrane with a polymer having the negative charge quantity of the surface, average pore diameter, and water permeability of specific values. CONSTITUTION:A blood constituent separating membrane is formed with a polymer having the negative charge quantity of the surface of 30mueq/g or below, the average pore diameter of 10Angstrom -1.0mum, and the water permeability of 3.4-800ml/hr/m<2>/mmHg. Either one of polyacrylonitrile, cellulose, and polymethyl methacrylate is used as the main constituent of the membrane. Since the negative charge quantity of the membrane surface is 30mueq/g or below, the blood coagulation XIIth factor in the blood is little activated, the concentration of quinine rises very little, and the quinine concentration does not rise to 4000pg/ml or above. This membrane can be used for a blood dialysis, a filtration type dialysis, a blood separation such as a plasma separation, double filtration, body fluid inspissation of ascites, and push-and-pull blood filtration. |
