<p>The device is intended for the production of compressed cakes of compost and/or manure for culturing fungal cultures, in particular mushrooms. It is provided with a charge well 3 for the material to be compacted. A discharge port 5 provided in the bottom zone of the charge well 3 is connected to a compaction channel 6, which has a rectangular cross section. Two side panels of this compaction channel 6 are formed by parts 8, 9 of two conveyor belts 10, 11 which are driven by a motor. Opposite the discharge port 5 there is arranged a slidable compression piston 19, whose direction of sliding is parallel with the longitudinal axis of the compaction channel. The effective cross section of the compression piston 19 is designed so that it corresponds to the cross section of the compaction channel 6. The active pressure or the power uptake of the compression piston 19 governs the motor which drives the conveyor belts 10, 11. The compaction channel 6 is arranged horizontally. The parts 8, 9 of the two conveyor belts 10, 11, which form the side panels of the compaction channel 6, are opposite to each other and form the wide side panels of the compaction channel 6. <IMAGE></p> |
