PURPOSE:To obtain images having a high quality at low transfer pressure without generating evaporation and being affected by the time required from printing to transfer and a printing pattern. CONSTITUTION:After an ink image is formed on a transfer drum 1 by ink drops discharged from an ink jet record head 2, it is irradiated with ions whose polarity is the same as coloring charged particles in the ink by a, corotron charger 3, and the coloring particles are fixed to the surface of the transfer drum 1. The transfer drum 1 having the ink image formed thereon is coated with a solvent 20 by a solvent coating means 4, thereafter, controlled to a uniform thickness by a coat thickness control roller 21, and an concentrated ink image is formed. The concentrated ink image on the transfer drum 1 is transferred to a recording paper 8 by a transfer press roller 6. |
