A dismountable moving toy comprises a body 10 composed of a pair of moulded hollow sections 12, 13 made from transparent plastics material which can be secured together by a plurality of bolts 27, 28, 29 and nuts 50, 51, 52, a power pack 22 and each section is integrally formed with cylindrical support bearings 14 to 17 adapted to support shafts 53<SP>1</SP> to 56<SP>1</SP> of toothed wheels 53 to 56, and is provided with circular apertures 33, 31, 32 to receive the bolts 27 to 29 respectively for interlocking sections 12, 13, and circular apertures 20, 21 for the axles 18, 19 respectively. The axles 18, 19 have threaded end portions to which nuts 47, 48 are attached and which support wheels 49, 44 respectively. The bolts, nuts, toothed wheels and wheel assemblies are made of suitably coloured plastics material, and the toy can be disassembled and reassembled by removing and fastening the bolts and nuts by means of a spanner. The toy may be a locomotive with a reciprocating piston rod 46, a bulldozer with a endless belt and front blade which moves up and down or a toy mixer truck with a rotating mixer member. The power pack 22 comprises a casing 37 and a conventional spring motor means therein. On winding the spring winder 38 with the switch lever 39 in the "off" position the spring motor is energized. When the lever is turned to the "on" position the motor starts to rotate the pin 41 which meshes with toothed wheel 57 fixedly mounted on the rear axle 19 with the toothed wheel 56 thus causing the rear wheels and the toothed wheels 53 to 56 to rotate. The latter are idle wheels and may be coloured but they may be provided on their respective shafts with suitable cam means capable of operating additional accessories. When the rear wheels rotate the piston rod 46 reciprocates. The spring motor power pack may be substituted by one in which a battery, a battery-operated motor and driving gears are disposed. |
