PURPOSE:To improve operability in the case of erasing one part of hierarchically managed classification by erasing the classification in the high-order hierarchy when no classification to belong is existent besides classification designated to the classification of the high-order hierarchy, to which the designated classification belongs, when erasing the designated classification. CONSTITUTION:Document data to be stored in a large capacity storage device 5 are managed by adding the classification name and as the managing method, a method (tree type) to hierarchize the classification into plural kinds and to manage them is used. The tree type is provided with the three hierarchies such as large classification, middle classification and small classification, and tree structure is displayed on a display device 6. In the case of erasing one part of hierarchically managed classification names, the classification of the low-order hierarchy belonging to the classification is erased as well and the classification of the high-order hierarchy which loses the low-order hierarchy by erasing of the designated classification is simultaneously erased. Therefore, in the case of changing the classification, it is not necessary to designate all the classifications to be erased, and efficient work is made possible. |
